Job description
As a Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications in Java. You will work with Japan’s top enterprises across finance, manufacturing, medical, and logistics industries. Projects are decided based on your skills, experience, and career goals after you join.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in system design, development, testing, and deployment of Java-based applications.
- Engage in upstream processes (requirements definition, basic/detailed design) as well as programming and release management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Japanese clients and international engineers.
- Develop web applications and enterprise systems using Java frameworks and modern front-end technologies.
- Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and security standards.
- Prepare technical documentation and support continuous system improvements.
Requirement
Mandatory:
- 3+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Hands-on experience with Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.).
- Experience in web application development and enterprise systems.
- Business-level Japanese proficiency (JLPT N2 or above).
- Currently living outside Japan and willing to relocate.
- Commitment to long-term career in Japan (5 years or more).
Preferred:
- Experience with front-end technologies (Vue.js, React, JavaScript, TypeScript).
- Database experience (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2).
- Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure).
- Prior experience in finance, manufacturing, or medical IT systems.
Benefits
Salary: From 235,000 JPY/month (negotiable based on skills & experience).
- Trial Period: 2 months (no change in conditions).
- Working Hours: 9:00–18:00 (8h/day, 1h break).
- Overtime: Approx. 12.3h/month (overtime allowance provided).
- Work Location: Assigned to one of 32 nationwide offices or client sites (preferences considered).
